ROQUEFORT DES CORBIERES

Roquefort is a quiet village, inhabited by winegrowers and international artists. It is nestled under a cliff, and closed by two hills: La Triolle and Saint Martin, from where numerous tracks permit to begin walks or hikes. Interesting to visit: Saint Martin chapel, crucifix, several seasonal displays. Possibility to participate, in the summer, to market square bowls tournaments, outdoor meals, and dancing parties.

SIGEAN

Sigean is a little city that is becoming more and more important as well due to its growing population as to its commercial activity. The city offers every service, and several places to be visited. On the lake side: Port Mahon, Les Cabanes. 3 km far away: la réserve africaine, a great African zoo. 4 km farther, the little village Portel invites you to visit “Terra Vinea”, unique underground wine cave.
On the lake side, Peyriac de Mer offers a wooden walk on piles through the lake.
Bages is a typical fishermen village built on a lake peninsula (along the road to Narbonne)

PORT LA NOUVELLE

Port la Nouvelle, 12 km from Castelsec, is the second Mediterranean port, and also a bathing station with kilometers of fine sand It is a good family place for sun and sea bathing, as there are 3 security gard posts.
Sainte Lucie island, on the lake, is a natural park to be walked on feet. On the road to La Palme, a winegrower proposes to visit a skeleton from a whale once found on the beach.

LEUCATE

Leucate, 20 km from Castelsec, is a three parts area: Leucate-village, Leucate-plage, and Port-Leucate.
At Leucate-plage, a cliff protects from the wind and the beach sand stays quiet. Beach declivity is strong. It is possible to eat fresh oysters all the year long at Leucate producers parks.

FITOU

Fitou, 23 km from Castelsec is a little city with a XIIIth century castle, and wine-testing sessions in famous caves.
